Welcome!
I’m Laura
Your go-to girl for all things Deep travel
As a Third Culture Kid who’s called Italy, the US, and now Spain home (and lived in six cities total), I’ve come to realize I belong nowhere and everywhere all at once. In a way, I feel most at home when I’m exploring unfamiliar places.
As a citizen of the world (cheesy, but true), I believe travel is about connection and gaining new “eyes”. And that as tourists, we have a responsibility to be the best “guests” we can be: respecting locals, culture, and the environment.
Whether your trip is short or long, I’m here to help you travel deeper — through hidden gems, local insights, and responsible tourism.

Discover authentic travel guides filled with hidden gems, cultural insights, and practical tips to help you feel confident and travel deeper—no matter your timeframe.
Behind the blog
The Butterfly Effect Story 🦋📝
During my senior year of high school, after seven years of living in the U.S., an Italian exchange student told me in front of the whole class that I wasn’t “as Italian” as her because I had lived fewer years in Italy.
That moment, along with other comments that made me feel like I wasn’t “enough,” triggered what many Third Culture Kids experience: an identity crisis. We realize we don’t fully belong anywhere—especially not on a map.
And what do you do with an identity crisis? You go on a solo trip! 😂
At 19, I spent one month traveling through five European countries and had two big realizations:
- I am a creative
- I feel most at home when surrounded by the unknown.
That trip was my butterfly effect—the spark that set everything in motion. It led me, step by step, to where I am today.
Travel blogging is the job that allows me to feel at home while also playing one of my favorite roles: the friend you go to for local tips and hidden gems.
Everything I share here is exactly what I share with my closest friends. I want to help you travel deeper, and experience the true essence of your destination, and feel confident while doing so—no matter how much time you have.
