Hi friend! I’m Laura, and I’m so glad you’re here 🙂 Read below if you want to get to know me more!❤️
I am a Third Culture Kid in her 20’s who’s called 3 different countries home: Italy (my home country), the United States of America, and currently Spain.
I left the American corporate life to commit myself to my biggest passion – traveling, diving deep wherever I go, and sharing it all with you through blogging and content creation.
My mission through Laura Dolci Travel is to help you dive deeper into your destinations (even with limited time) through hidden gems, my local insights/tips, and Responsible Tourism.

Deeper Into My Story:
When I was 7 years old, my Dad told me we would be moving 3 hours away from my hometown, Turin, to Modena, Italy. At this time, Turin was all that I knew – I loved my school, my city, and my friends. What would happen after leaving? Would I lose everyone and my close friendships?
Fast forward a few months, after my 8th birthday, we were in Modena and I was to attend the International School of Modena (ISM). I grew to love this town very quickly – its people, its yellow and orange-painted buildings, and the food.
The school offered me something I (personally) consider better than education: meeting people from all over the world, learning about their cultures, how they sing “happy birthday”, and learning new languages.
Here, most of us could subconsciously bond over living in moving homes and yet, belong all together. The years spent at ISM explain why I grew to love what I love: traveling the world, meeting fellow passengers, and learning more about this little world we live in and share.
Fast forward 3 years, we moved to the United States of America and I lived there for 12, overall, great years. I had the beautiful opportunity to continue growing up in Maine (Lewiston & Limestone), and then in Boston for the last 6 years.
Boston, maybe because it’s known as “the most European city in the US”, is the city that felt like home – and I couldn’t have loved this city more.
Regardless, I’ve always known I’d make my way back somewhere in Europe eventually. The last 2 years in the US were spent at a Marketing Agency in Boston that I loved but I also knew there was more out there for my mid-20s self. If I was going to take risks, this was the time.
Why Traveling Fulfills Me:

As you will have learned from the previous section, I moved many times throughout my short years. Because of this, I lost a bit of identity and a geographical place to call home.
In Italy, I was quickly known as the American friend, and in the US I was always the Italian friend – I was never enough of either, and this is a sentiment that is highly shared amongst people who move often or are third-culture kids.
In 2018, during my first solo European trip, I had an epiphany thanks to the Wanderlust Exhibition in the Staatliche Museum – an exhibition dedicated to travelers. Long story short, I found a work of art that perfectly explained year-long sentiments I couldn’t explain myself:
I’ve lost my origin and I don’t want to find it again… I feel at home whenever the unknown surrounds me; I receive its embrace aboard my floating house.

Traveling fulfills me because it’s where I feel at home, and at ease. There is nothing I love more than bringing my floating house around, diving deep through hidden gems, meeting fellow passengers, and making every new, unknown place feel a bit more like home.
