- Closed on Mondays
If you are a lover of Belgian fries and are craving an indulgent, late night adventure – Fritsky Patatería is a place to not miss out on! Here you can order the most ginormous cones of fries and put all sorts of delicious toppings.
My personal favorites are the Cup Serrano and the Cup Kebab – which are both “bowls” of french fries with either jamón serrano or kebab and my sauce of choice, truffle sauce.
If you live in Granada or are staying for a longer period of time, ask them for their reward stamp card. Also, looking at an empty cone is very deceiving – no matter how hungry you are, eating a medium cone is already mission impossible.😅 This is a lesson I quickly learned my first time eating here.
Note. The fries here are cooked in their own oil, making the fries safe for celiacs. However, there are gluten-containing-foods, so make sure to tell the owners you are celiac!

If you’re a cheesecake lover and a cheese lover – you must visit KIMCAKES! Most, if not all, of the cheesecakes here have a gluten free base – bringing some similarity to the New York style cheesecake – but also have the incredible gooyeness of a Basque cheesecake.
Here you’ll get to choose the cheesecake of your tastebud’s dreams based on the different cheese they are made with – including Manchego and Papoyo. They also have flavored ones, such as Pistachio and White Chocolate with Salty Peanuts.
I personally love their Classica, which is their best-seller and has three different cheeses, including Parmesan.

Café Futbol – Café
- 📍 Location: Pl. de Mariana Pineda, 6, Centro, 18009 Granada
- 💰 Price Range: $
- 🤩: Oldest café in Granada, offers outdoor seating, and delicious gluten free hot chocolate.
Café Fútbol is the oldest café in Granada, which just recently turned 100 years old. Throughout this year, Café Futbol’s gluten free options have continued to expand. Now, you can drink their traditional hot chocolate, and eat their selection of gluten free desserts.
The gluten free pastry selections change frequently, but you will usually find carrot cake, cheesecake, magdalenes, and so forth.
Furthermore, here you can get delicious coffee drinks, teas, and the best of them all – Leche Merengada, or Leche Rizada! Leche Merengada is a traditional Spanish drink that consists of eggs, lemon zest, cinnamon, and milk. Leche Rizada is the ice cream version. Note: Make sure to inform the staff of the gluten allergy so they don’t add any complimentary biscuits.

Last Tips
If you have any dietary restrictions, Spain is one of the safest and most aware countries regarding allergens! Throughout my time in Spain, I’ve never had to “fight” for someone to understand the severity of my celiac disease; something I’ve unfortunately had to do in other countries.
Gluten-Free in Spanish is Sin Gluten (SG), and when you see “PSG” in any restaurant, it stands for “Puede ser Sin Gluten” (can be made gluten-free).
If you go window shopping for restaurants, keep an eye out for those that have the allergen symbols throughout the menu – that shows they are aware and know what they are doing!
For precaution though, always ensure to confirm with staff that everything is fried and prepared separately!
Still need to book your stay for your trip?
The best area to stay in Granada is the city center, where you will be a short and easy walk from all the main attractions and activities.
The Albaicín area is also a beautiful central area, but I do not recommend it as it is a steep uphill walk with cobble stone. The streets are not suitcase friendly, and it’s best to preserve your walking energy for Alhambra and other attractions, like the Carmen de los Mártires.
